Dr.
James E. Kay is a 1969 graduate of the University Of Georgia school
of Veterinary Medicine. He has been in Douglas County since
1971 after graduating from Veterinary school. Served two years in
the Air Force and one year in Vietnam. He is former Vice President of
Chamber of Commerce, former President of the Kiwanis Club and past
President of American Heart Association. He is married and has
three
children. Dr. Michael Kay, his son, just joined our practice in
June of 2007. Dr. James Kay was recently appointed by Governor
Sunny Perdue to be on the Consumer Advisory Board. When he isn't
working, he loves spending time with his family, golfing and watching
all sports, especially the Georgia Bulldogs!
Dr. Cyd Greer, a Georgia native,
completed her undergraduate studies as a pre-vet major at The
University of Georgia. She earned her DVM from The University of
Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Dr. Greer worked at
several small animal hospitals following graduation until she found
Kay Animal Hospital in 1987. She takes pride in the high quality of
medicine and surgery practiced at Kay Animal Hospital and is
typically referred to as our Cat Doctor. Her special interests
include internal medicine and feline medicine. Dr. Greers favorite
pastime is spending time with her husband, Barry and son Tyler. She
also enjoys cooking and reading.
A native of Douglasville, Georgia, Dr. Michael Kay recently
joined his fathers practice in June 2007. He attended the
University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelors degree in
Agriculture and majored in Animal Science and Dairy Science. He
went on to attend St. George University College of Veterinary
medicine and received his doctorate after completing his 4th
year of clinical studies at the University of Georgia. His
professional interests include orthopedic surgery, cardiology,
and ultrasonography. In his spare time, Dr. Kay enjoys golfing,
traveling, fishing, hunting, and discovering fine foods with
friends and family.
